“I have missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I have lost almost 300 games. On 26 occasions I have been entrusted to take the game winning shot . . . and missed. And I have failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why . . . I succeed.”

Fighting a battle

January 30, 2009

I took this picture the other day of a fella that either had way to much to drink or was on something, but it was a chance for God to speak something to me. You may not be able to tell by the picture but that’s an 18 wheeler and a guy! The guy was not happy with the big truck and was telling the driver off, but never thought that the truck could simply move forward and kill him, this is what I thought about. Without God I am doing the same thing everyday. I am fighting battles that I can not win without God, I am trying to fight an enemy that is much bigger than me, much more powerful than me, way out of my league. I must focus on Jesus and less focus on problems then Jesus will take care of ALL my problems.

learn from a prisoner

January 28, 2009

Prisoner you can learn a lot from a prisoner. I have had the chance to visit most state prisons in Louisiana over the last 2 years or so and have had the chance to work very close to those men and women getting released from these prisons. I have learned a lot from them, not lock picking or secrets to the under life, but I have learned to be free. I have met more free men in prison than I have met outside the walls. Free to worship God, free to confess addictions, free to heal there ailments that caused them to enter the criminal justice system. These men need to be mentored, loved and shown how to re direct the energy they spend all the bad choices and refocus these talents onto Godly things. I have met 100’s of men in the prison system that had they made a different choice could put you and I out of work, simply put they are very very talented and I plan to do all I can to do to show them how to take your job. These men must return to a community that does not scorn them, but one that will be willing to help them. I will be doing a video in the coming days to showcase a way you can help with this. Imagine your life, tired, overworked, hungry kids, wife leaves you, your fired, you quit, you decide to cover the pain with something, you make a bad choice, who do you want to be waiting on you when your set free? would you want you to be waiting on you???? only you can start the change, only you?
